Councillor Jacob Birch has today paid his respects to HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, who has died at the age of 99.

 

In a statement Councillor Jacob Birch paid tribute to The Duke who “supported the Queen for his whole life.”

 

The statement said:

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the death of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, I send my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to Her Majesty The Queen and members of the Royal Family. 

 

The whole family as well as the extended community are in my thoughts at this difficult time.

 

The Duke was dedicated to his family and to public service as well as supporting The Queen as she carried out her duties across the world and he will be greatly missed.

 

Rest in Peace HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip – a true servant to Crown, Country and The Queen.”
